Mary Jo Markey collaborated with a Klingon language expert to streamline this key action set piece from "Star Trek Into Darkness."   Mary Jo Markey, ACE, is an accomplished editor in both film and television. After cutting a series of independent films and television movies, Markey began her collaboration with JJ Abrams as one of the editors of the TV series "Felicity" during its first three seasons (1998-2000). Markey then moved over to edit the first two seasons of "Alias," during which she received her first Emmy nomination. Later, in 2005, Markey won the Emmy for Drama Series Editing for her work on the "Lost" pilot. In 2006, Markey’s collaboration with JJ Abrams moved to the large screen with "Mission Impossible III." From our 2019 Sight, Sound & Story Post Production Summit - Editor Kate Sanford ACE, discusses how she brought out the passion of the Fosse/Verdon cast by intercutting three scenes that were not originally planned to be intercut.   Kate Sanford, ACE, is a feature film and television editor whose most recent project is the upcoming just released miniseries Fosse/Verdon. She recently completed the first two seasons of "The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel" and won the ACE award for best-edited comedy. Between seasons she edited "The Deuce" for writer/showrunner David Simon. We sadly just learned of the passing of legendary Editor Anne V. Coates, ACE. We had the pleasure of meeting Anne when she joined us for “Sight, Sound & Story” 2016 with moderator/writer Bobbie O’Steen. Anne was easily one of our most memorable panelists that we have ever had; not only for her extremely long and esteemed career, but because of her outspoken, joyful, and charming personality. MEWShop is proud to welcome editor  Kelley Dixon, ACE  as our Artist in Residence for our March/April 2018 Six Week Intensive Art of Editing Workshop. Kelley Dixon, ACE got her start in post production in multiple capacities in the editing room on the features "Reservoir Dogs" and "Good Will Hunting" as well as TV's "Without a Trace," and "Revelations."    Kelley got her big break after many long years as an assistant when her editor, Lynne Willingham cut the "Breaking Bad" pilot and she became the series' second editor.    She's been nominated for four ACE awards and six Emmys - winning one Emmy in 2013 - for her work on "Breaking Bad." Kelley also edited on HBO's "Luck," Showtime's "Shameless," AMC's "The Walking Dead," "Halt and Catch Fire" and "Preacher."    And she's currently working on the "Breaking Bad" spin-off, "Bett...
