Oscar-nominated Editor of “The Descendants” Kevin Tent, ACE, Joins Manhattan Edit Workshop as Their Next Artist in Residence

Manhattan Edit Workshop (MEWShop) , the cutting-edge, online digital-training destination for post-production specialists and content creators is proud to announce the upcoming Artist in Residence for the March 1st class will be Oscar-nominated editor Kevin Tent, ACE.**   Kevin Tent’s renowned editing career started with legendary producer Roger Corman and from there he established himself as the go-to editor for the acclaimed director Alexander Payne.  Kevin is not only an experienced editor, he has also directed and co-directed three films and was recently elected as President of the honorary society of American Cinema Editors. Lee Percy, ACE  has worked with director Barbet Schroeder from the Academy Award-winning film,  Reversal of Fortune  to Murder by Numbers . Lee also edited the Academy Award-winning Boys Don't Cry , and the critically acclaimed film,  Maria Full of Grace .  He also worked on The Ice Harvest  for director Harold Ramis, Oliver Stone's Snowden , as well as Sundance Film Festival 2009 nominee and Emmy-winning Taking Chance.  Lee's recent work includes the remake of the classic horror film Carrie , Amelia , HBO's Grey Gardens , and Oliver Stone's Snowden. Emmy Nominated Editor Jim Stewart, ACE Joins Our June 2018 Six Week Intensive!

Veteran editor Jim Stewart, ACE, has been editing feature films and television for over 30  years.  His breakthrough editing position was on the hit series  Life Goes On .  From there  he was a part of the iconic show  The Wonder Years , serving as both editor and supervising  editor on over 40 episodes.  He was nominated for an Emmy for his work on  Chicago  Hope  for Outstanding Editing in a Series in 1994 for the episode "Leave Of Absence."   For close to a decade, Jim worked on several  Law & Order  series, but did his most  work for that series on  Law & Order: Special Victims Unit .  He has worked on  several animated films including  Valiant, Monsters, INC . and as an additional editor on  T oy Story 2 .  His most recent work includes ABC's  Quantico  and most recently CBS's  Instinct . "Breaking Bad" Editor Kelley Dixon, ACE Joins Our March 2018 Workshop

MEWShop is proud to welcome editor  Kelley Dixon, ACE  as our Artist in Residence for our March/April 2018 Six Week Intensive Art of Editing Workshop. Kelley Dixon, ACE got her start in post production in multiple capacities in the editing room on the features "Reservoir Dogs" and "Good Will Hunting" as well as TV's "Without a Trace," and "Revelations."    Kelley got her big break after many long years as an assistant when her editor, Lynne Willingham cut the "Breaking Bad" pilot and she became the series' second editor.    She's been nominated for four ACE awards and six Emmys - winning one Emmy in 2013 - for her work on "Breaking Bad." MEWShop is proud to welcome editor  Allyson C. Johnson  as our Artist in Residence for our November/December 2017 Six Week Intensive Art of Editing Workshop. Allyson C. Johnson’s Feature Film work includes: Mira Nair’s “Amelia,” ”The Namesake,” “Vanity Fair” and “Monsoon Wedding” which received the Golden Lion for Best Film at the 2001 Venice Film.  Her television work includes NBC’s “Smash” and “The Slap,’ “The Wire,” “Quantico” and “Marco Polo” for Netflix.  She is currently editing Baz Luhrmann’s series “The Get Down” for Netflix.  Johnson received an Emmy Nomination editing the documentary “The Who’s Tommy: The Amazing Journey.”  Other rockumentaries include “Up From the Underground” (Quincy Jones), "Say It Loud" (VH-1) and her Triptych short film “Kick Out the Jams” appeared at the opening of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Museum.  She has also collaborated with such filmmakers as Spike Lee and Griffin Dunne and Bill Moyers.  For more ...
