Hours of practice, mastery of your tools, numerous mistakes to learn from, and years of experience that pushes you to become a better craftsperson. You also need to explore and learn from your colleagues work to see how others have tackled something differently than you might have approached it, so you can be influenced and intellectually challenged. Over the Christmas break we learned of the passing of Editor Jerry Greenberg. We fondly recall having Jerry on our first feature panel for our “Sight, Sound & Story” series back in 2013. The panel was entitled “New York in the ’70s: NYC Legends Discuss their Work and their Favorite Moments from this Revolutionary Era in American Cinema.” We were delighted to have him join editors Alan Heim, ACE, Susan Morse, ACE, Bill Pankow, ACE and moderator/writer Bobbie O’Steen to lend insight into that historical and magical period of New York City filmmaking.
