Cinematographer Nancy Schreiber, ASC discusses shooting the period piece "Shadow Magic." Recorded at the event "Sight, Sound & Story: The Art of Cinematography" on September 30, 2015. Nancy Schreiber, ASC is an award winning cinematographer based in both New York and Los Angeles. She came up through the ranks as an electrician and gaffer, working in commercials features and documentaries for such directors and producers as Martha Coolidge, Michael Hausman, and Richard Pearce. "Shadow Magic" is a 2000 film directed and co-written by Ann Hu. The film was a US-China co-production starring Xia Yu, Jared Harris and Xing Yufei. The movie was Ann Hu's directorial debut. Cinematographer Jerry Ricciotti discusses shooting on location for "Vice." Recorded at "Sight, Sound & Story: The Art of Cinematography" on September 30, 2015. Jerry Ricciotti is currently a Director of Photography for "Vice," working mainly on our HBO series called "Vice" on HBO and "Vice News." He was nominated for a cinematography Emmy last year and won an Emmy for best informational series. "Vice" on HBO shoots on location with very small teams; so all out work is run and gun where the crew often find themselves wearing many different hats. Prior to "Vice," Jerry was based in California shooting documentaries mainly focused on sports and professional surfing. Behind the Cinematography of the Oscar-Nominated Documentary "Cartel Land"

Cinematographer Matt Porwoll is based in New York City. His most recent work,  Cartel Land , was nominated for a 2016 Academy Award for Best Documentary (feature). Cartel Land was also selected for competition at the 2015 Sundance Film Festival and subsequently went on to win the US Documentary Prize for Cinematography. He was one of three speakers on the documentary panel at MEWShop's " Sight, Sound & Story: The Art of Cinematography," 2015  event. We recently caught up with him to ask some in-depth questions about his career and experiences as a cinematographer.
