Understand the art and technique of master editors, led by author and film historian Bobbie O’Steen. Develop a deeper knowledge of the creative thinking behind the process to become a better editor and storyteller. The purpose of this course is to reveal the art and technique of master editors through the screening and discussion of their work. By doing a cut-by-cut analysis, Bobbie will explain the strategies and decisions behind the editing of many successful films - based on extensive interviews from her books, panels, and event series - which will ultimately empower you to become a better editor and storyteller yourself. Remembering Legendary Editor Jerry Greenberg, ACE

Over the Christmas break we learned of the passing of Editor Jerry Greenberg. We fondly recall having Jerry on our first feature panel for our “Sight, Sound & Story” series back in 2013. The panel was entitled “New York in the ’70s: NYC Legends Discuss their Work and their Favorite Moments from this Revolutionary Era in American Cinema.” We were delighted to have him join editors Alan Heim, ACE, Susan Morse, ACE, Bill Pankow, ACE and moderator/writer Bobbie O’Steen to lend insight into that historical and magical period of New York City filmmaking. Julius Ramsay is an Emmy-nominated editor and director who has worked on some of the most popular shows on television. He began his career as an editor on documentary series, such as VH1's Behind the Music and ESPN's "SportsCentury." He moved on to such blockbuster reality shows as "American Idol," "The Bachelor" and its spin-off "The Bachelorette." In 2006, he began editing episodic dramas, such as "Alias," "Battlestar Galactica" and "FlashForward." From 2010 to 2015, he edited 23 episodes of The "Walking Dead," the highest rated drama in the history of cable television.
