Heather Smith is a graduate from our October 2007 Six Week Intensive course. Shortly after graduation she move to LA to work for Madison Road where she worked as a digitizer and logger on a show called Big Shot Live. After a year she decided it was time to return to New York. She's only been here nearly a year and a half and has already worked for Lost Planet, Outpost Digital, Thornberg and Forester and NBC. It's been here in New York where she's been able to assist in the creative world of editing, which is her favorite part! She's currently working as an assistant editor on Discovery Channel's Storm Chasers, where on occasion you may even catch a glimpse of her lovely face on the show! She also enjoys assisting because of the technical elements utilized. MEWSHOP prepared her for the world of editing in the perfect way. Not only did she learn Avid and Final Cut Pro, but with her reel she knew she had credibility. Heather recommends after graduation, and beforehand, to meet as many people as possible so you can get your name out there. It's skill and personality you need to land THE job!
