EditFest NY 2012 Confirms the Editor of "Smash" as a Panelist!

EditFest NY 2012 has confirmed Smash editor Camilla Toniolo as a panelist for this year's event.  Some of Camilla's work includes Mildred Pierce, Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Living in Oblivion.

EditFest NY 2012 Confirms the Oscar Nominated Editor of Moneyball as a Panelist!



EditFest NY 2012 has confirmed Moneyball editor Christopher Tellefsen, A.C.E. as a panelist for this year's event.  Some of Christopher's work includes Capote, Analyze This, The Village, The People vs. Larry Flynt, Fair Game, Kid, and Changing Lanes.  Christopher Tellefsen was born in September 1957. In 1979 he attended New York's Cooper Union for the Advancement of Science and Art but as a student of photography and fine arts,becoming interested in experimental film-making after taking classes with Bob Breere. Shortly after graduation he was given a job assisting Ralph Rosenbloom cutting an independent movie and later became apprentice to another renowned editor Thelma Schoonmaker before,in 1990,taking his first job as a cutter in his own right for Whit Stillman's 'Metropolitan.' Since then he has not only achieved success in the field of editing (including an Oscar nod for 2011's 'Moneyball') but has also served as curator of Martin Scorsese's film archive.  For more information on this year's event go to www.editfestny.com.

Adobe Premiere Pro CS6 Review - Creative Cow

 
As a longtime Final Cut Pro user, David Lawrence has been looking for a new NLE, since FCPX isn't an option for his editing style and does not meet his needs. When word leaked out of a CS6 trial release, David took Premiere Pro 6 for a spin. And in this report for Creative COW, he shares his first impressions.

He opens his report stating: "Like many of you, I've been itching to get my hands on Adobe Premiere Pro CS 6.0 ever since Adobe's official announcement and demo videos. As a longtime Final Cut Pro user, NLE change has been a given ever since the Final Cut Studio EOL last June. The big question has been 'change to what?' I've written extensively about the Final Cut Pro X timeline and why it's not right for my style of editing. Since FCPX isn't an option for me, I've spent all year watching and waiting to see what other NLE vendors might come up with.
