He also worked on "The Longshots" starring Ice-Cube, and directed his first film, the documentary, "James Castle, Portait of an Artist." "Beautiful Girls" is a 1996 American romantic comedy-drama film directed by Ted Demme from a screenplay written by Scott Rosenberg, starring Matt Dillon, Lauren Holly, Timothy Hutton, Rosie O'Donnell, Martha Plimpton, Natalie Portman, Michael Rapaport, Mira Sorvino and Uma Thurman.
