Summer Plans??? More Education in your future....

We hope you see something to your liking!   7/6/09 – 7/7/09 Adobe After Effects CS4 Level II: This two-day intermediate class will take you beyond the basics by focusing on industry standard best-practices for creating motion graphics. FCP 101: June 29, 30 and July 1st

An Introduction to Final Cut Pro will be starting June 29th and there is still space available for those interested.   This three-day hands-on apple certified course introduces students to the primary feature set and basic interface of Final Cut Pro. In this course, you learn to perform basic editing functions while familiarizing yourself with the user interface. Topics include basic setup, adjusting and customizing preferences and settings, capturing video and audio, various editing and trimming techniques, ripple, roll, slip and slide tools, audio editing and audio creation, finishing and final output. Retool Bootcamp Success!

We have had an overwhelming positive response to the Retool Bootcamp!  If you weren't able to make it this go around, do not fear, we will be running it again!  The dates are yet to be determined but definitely in the works. Photoshop Masterclass Saturday June 27th

In this intensive, one-day course taught by Photoshop expert   Marcus Geduld , we'll explore all of Photoshop's major features, including color correction, layers, transparency, brushes and filters. Since this course is geared to filmmakers and videographers, Marcus will focus on issues related to film and video, such as Pixel Aspect Ratio, working with text, video-safe color and creating backgrounds. EditFest NY 2009 Success!

Thank you to those that attended and participated in EditFest NY this year!   We were all mentally and physically fed by so many top notch editors working on the East and West coast.  Extremely Inspirational Indeed! Here's a sneak peek of what fellow attendee Gordon Burkell  said about his impression of EditFest NY. "The editors on the comedy panel set the day up well with a good sense of humour. The editors that stood out were Michael Berenbaum, A.C.E. who set up a small joke for the audience when he showed a clip of two characters, from  Sex and the City , fighting. Michael prepped us by saying that we were about to witness a fight between two of the main female characters. The lights dimmed, the curtain opened, and the screen projected  Michael Berenbaum Sex and the City Clip . All of a sudden we see the wolfman and Frankenstein fighting. Latest Artists in Residence to come to MEWSHOP

Last week our school was graced with editors Norm Hollyn and Kate Sanford as part of the Six Week Intensive Artist-in-Residence Program. The Artist-in-Residence Program is a core component of Manhattan Edit Workshop's Six Week Art of Editing Course. Top film editors join the class to screen and discuss their work, while students share their edits for comments and critique. Each class ends with a public event co-hosted by the Motion Picture Editor's Guild. It's an evening of film excerpts, stories and lively Q&A. The next Six Week Intensive Starts on June 15th so get busy and registe r if you want to experience this event!
